I Want to Share Your Writing
Your Time To Shine
I write a lot - all things neuroscience and psychotherapy - but I am curious to hear your ideas…
Over time, I had a pleasure to exchange messages with a number of you who gave me feedback, shared an idea that was sparked by some of my writing/talks, shared an interesting bit of client work that is puzzling you or your personal experience. It means a world, and even if I did not meet you in person, with some of you I feel we share a deep common interest into something new and exciting and also a deep passion for our work (or understanding/puzzlement over human nature, in general).
I really am grateful for all those exchanges that enriched me personally and in terms of advancing my thinking about all things neuroscience and psychotherapy. I mean it.
I want to give something back. Sensing that many of you have an interesting story(ies) to tell, clinical or personal, I want to invite you to write a piece and I will publish it on my platform.
If this is tempting, read along for the details.
What Is the Brief
I am thinking anything from 500 to 1500 words. It can be something that you plan or already have published on this or another platform. Anything with a link to neuroscience and psychotherapy. Some ideas below:
Case study (all names and details would need of course to be changed, for confidentiality sake)
Your own take on a specific topic from neuroscience and psychotherapy integration
Personal experience
Reflection on the state of affairs of our profession (as long as it is linked to neuroscience and psychotherapy)
A specific neurobollocks debunk (of course, that would be my personal favourite)
By I am open to other ideas, send me an email just to check whether it would fit the concept.
What I Will Do
I will read and publish your piece in a collection, on my blog (both on my website and on substack). I can comment on the piece, if you want me to, or not, it is up to you. I will leave it as it is (no censorship).
It will put your name out there and you can also include your website and things you specialise in and are passionate about.
What I am looking for: original reflection on things and your own thinking about neuroscience and psychotherapy. Critical spirit and an inquiring mind as well as your own personal cachet and reflection together with any human dilemmas, reflection on human nature and how that is reflected in psychotherapy presentations. You get the idea.
What I am not looking for: advertising for a specific personality, brand or method.
While I will not engage in any act of censorship, I reserve the right not to publish a specific piece, if I feel that it is inappropriate in any way or too much off topic.
I know for a fact that many of you have some cool ideas and selfishly I would like to hear and read about them. So if the idea is tempting, send me your stuff. It's your time to shine.
Any questions, shoot me message. Deadline, let's say the end of August.
Your time to shine. Looking forward to reading your stuff.

OMG this is really exciting - I'm a writer who's JUST starting to be brave sharing her work so I've committed to this. Also with a background in neuroscience and psychology (and having done lots of psychotherapy for previous depression) it's my favourite topic to write about.
See you in your submission before the end of August!
I think I can come up with something. I normally write ~7k words, so 500-1500 will test me.
